Dr. Patrick Szeto, MD, FACS, FASCRS

Wasted our time and put my wife in undo discomfort. The office had my wife scheduled with a different doctor in the same office but the doctor she was going to see was in surgery and wouldn't be able to meet the appointment time. So the office switched her and gave her a appointment time of 1:45. They requested that she be there at 1:15 for check in. Not to get into it all, but my wife has to flush her colon 2 hours and 1 hour before the appointment. With us living 30 minutes away, there was no way, after the flush we were going to meet the requested 30 minutes early. We got there at 1:35, checked in, and then promptly told we would have to reschedule because the rigid doctor wants all new patients to be there 30 minutes early. So basically, to meet the unrealistic timeline we would have had to bring the stuff with us and just used the office bathroom or stopped at a gas station on the way. If you have an appointment that's when you need to be there. If you want people to wait 30… minutes, then schedule with the 30 minutes added in like every other Doctor. This is a waste of time, gas, and unnecessary discomfort for the wife and I. And he didn't even have the courage to come say it. He sent a nurse who was obviously annoyed and was unfairly crass with my wife. So much so that the receptionist literally mouthed "I'm sorry" while the nurse was getting snippy with my wife. Maybe the guy is a great surgeon, but it seems like he is lousy at dealing with people and employees a real pain of a nurse.

If I could not give any stars I would. Dr. Szeto did his version of treating my abcess. He had horrible bed side manner. He was ride and lacked compassion. He didn't take my level of pain seriously. I had NO POST OP treatment. After he did the surgery I was on my own. I had ONE follow up visit and had to request the other visits on my own where he showed no regard for my healing process. Needless to say my wound never healed properly. I was left with a hole that has a thick layer of scar tissue that is extremely painful to live with. Not to mention my abcess returning and I knew not to return to him. If you are suffering from an abcess or fistula good luck choosing him for your care.

Dr. Szeto was very courteous and very attentive to my needs. When I went to my initial appointment, I was very nervous and did not know what to expect. He explained in detail what was going on with me, what the surgical process consisted of, and also made sure that I was comfortable prior to surgery. His nurse checked on me the day after surgery, and did everything possible to make sure that my process was a smooth one. I would recommend Dr. Szeto to anyone for any colon rectal needs.

Nurse Mary at dr. Szeto was extremely rude kept sayin no to me being very callous to me, hung up on, didn't want to hear excuses talked over me about how she was ripped during 2 pregnacies, wouldn't allow me to apologize or explain my mental and physical ailments. Kept talking to me condescendingly. Kept telling me no when I asked for help. Told me I don't want to hear any excuses when I was trying to apologize for screaming ealier then she hung up on me and explain my behavior due to mental and physical problems. All she wanted to do was talk over me about she's had two pregnancies and was torn and downplayed my issues and problems and told me if i was so disabled how am I holding the phone. She said are you serious talking to me this way and I said are you serious talking to  me this way and you're a nurse? She got defensive and kept telling me no. When I told her to slow down so I can write some alternatives outside of seeing Szeto until I could see him, lytacane to numb that area… plenty of liquids , colace, she told me no because what she was telling me would cost her her nursing license.  In the back of my mind why are you even telling me this then and then you have nerve to tell me no you can't slow down so I can write this down event hough I have told you i have a disability and you mock me by saying how are you holding the phone.

Appointment was on time. Dr.Szeto was very professional and eased my concerns about in office procedure.I was able to have procedure during my initial.Nursing staff eased my anxiety while procedure was being done.

The staff was very pleasant. There was alittle wait before I got to see the doctor but overall wait wasn't bad (20 minutes). When I first saw the doctor I didn't know what to expect since he looked young, but he was very nice and explained everything in detail. I had my surgery within a week and had great outcome.

Unkind, unhelpful and comes to rudeness and judgment with little cause. This doctor might be a good surgeonâ?¦.I could not honestly speak about his skills as I am still having problems. But he and the whole staff are so uncourteous it was amazing. I have been to the office three times and to surgery and all times he was honestly just rude. I only write this to help anyone out there looking for a surgeonâ?¦..not the case harm on him but the truth is he is very very unhelpful, when and if anything goes on wrong you will see the nature of his practice. I am sorry to say but it seems the way that medicine is moving.
