Dr. Philip J Odonnell, MD

Primary care physicians amongst others things are supose to look at all of your health problems, as well as any specific health problem they are treating. Unfortunately I have a very ongoing and complicated medical history. As I shared this with Dr. O'Donnell he response was " good I like complicated cases. He takes whatever time is necessary to provide through and competent care. I was a health care professional for 42 years and never meet anyone that compares to Dr. O'Donnell nor in my own use of the medical system have I found anyone more genuinely concerned about your health as he is. I do not get the feeling about how long it is taking and how much money he could be making if you did not take up so much of his time as what I have sometimes felt/sensed sometimes with other medical professionals. MY first appointment lasted about 2 hours. In my opinion he is a model for all primary care providers *****

Great doctor. Improving staff.

I would recommend Dr. Oâ??Donnell to friends and family. My wife has seen him twice and she agrees with me that he is an excellent doctor. But our relationship with his staff got off to a very rocky start. As many others have described, my first 1st appointment and interactions with the front desk and other staff was unbelievable. I arrived early to fill in the new patient documents. They took my name and gave me the paperwork, which I finished and turned in. After 40 minutes waiting I asked how much longer it would be. The same person I had spoken to twice again asked my name, looked at her computer and told me to wait just a few more minutes. About 10 minutes later a different woman came out to the waiting room, asked for my name and birth date, looked at her clipboard and then told me I had to make an appointment, because they donâ??t take walk-in patients. I told her I had an appointment which was made for me by the receptionist at another of my doctors office, while I was… standing there, who wrote the info on an appointment card, and verified everything before hanging up. But I still had to make another appointment. When I arrived for that appointment I had to fill in the paperwork again which was annoying enough but it got worse. After being taken to an exam room a PA came in and asked why I was there. After telling her she apologized but because this was my first visit I had to see Dr. Oâ??Donnell himself and he was not there. She said I should have told the person who made the appointment that this was my first visit. After telling her my story I told her I would not be coming back and left. Later that evening I got a call from Dr. Oâ??Donnell himself who sincerely apologized for everything and asked me to come back the next day. Iâ??m glad I did because Dr. Oâ??Donnell turned out to be just what I was looking for, to replace my previous GP, for 27 years, who had recently retired. Since then, itâ??s been 16 months now, I have not had any problems with his staff.

Dr. O'Donnell is fine, however getting an appointment with him is a monumental task only surpassed by trying to follow up regarding a referral. His front desk staff is the worst I have ever encountered. They are EXTREMELY RUDE and provide inaccurate information and do not follow up. Do not select Dr. O'Donnell as a PCP if you have an insurance plan requiring referrals for specialists. This is really too bad because he seems like a good doctor, but dealing with the front desk staff makes it not worth it!!

I like Dr. O'Donnell very much. He's very easy to talk to, and approaches delicate issues with good humor. His office runs very efficiently -- never any long waits for a scheduled appointment.

Dr. O'Donnell is a great doctor, however his staff is extremely umprofessional and very rude. During my visit the staff had blasting R&B music,singing,snapping of their finger as if they were at a concernt. As a wait for my turn the lady who was sitting next to me was called in and as soon as they take her in the staff started to laugh at her. Wow! this office takes the award winning for umprofessionalism. The nurse who comes to get you from the waiting room doesn't look like she wants to work she looks annoyed. Why? who knows... for that reason and many more I will never recommend any of my friends or family to such place.... and I shall never return to such envirment- These blacks girls are rude and ugly!

I sought treatment from this provider for a potential broken bone. I was told that I would be called to review the results of my x-ray on a Friday by 3pm. When I hadn't heard anything by 3:30, I proactively called the office. I was treated downright rudely by the reception staff, my results were not available, and my call was never returned. It is now three days later and I have not received my results and my two most recent calls have not yet been returned.

I have been seeing Dr. O'Donnell for more than 15 years and he has never let me down. His office staff is cheerful and caring and he always listens to what I have to say. I never feel rushed during an appointment. I would recommend him highly.

I am fully comfortable with Dr. O'Donnell and over the twenty years as his patient I have always sensed his genuine concern for my problems. In addition, he is backed up by an excellent staff of NP's and clerical staff. I'd recommend him to anyone in search of an internist.

Dr. O'Donnell was very helpful in addressing multiple complicated issues. I would highly recommend him.
