Dr. Robert David Gerwin, MD

Dr. Gerwin was the 7th doctor that I have seen to be treated for a Chiari Malformation. My initial appointment with him was for 2 hours. Within that 2 hour period I learned more about my condition than I have in the 3 years I've been treated (or mistreated) as a whole. He is very knowledgeable of Chiari Malformations and he was even able to solve a few other health mysteries that I have. For once I am feeling positive about my treatment and actually see a light at the end of this very long tunnel. So happy to have found Dr. Gerwin.

Dr Gerwin is probably the most caring and understanding physician I have ever met, and I have met so many during the course of a serious accident and a serious disease. Dispite his experience and obvious intelligence, he is not like many other doctors who talk down to their patients, and he really takes all the time the time to listen to you before he makes any recommendations - he treats you as an equal in your care. I trust implicitly in handling my care for diagnostic and treatment purposes. I think he makes each patient feel like like the only patient he has. There is a wait, but that is because he is taking the time that each person needs. He is well worth the wait

Dr. Gerwin is a doctor who spends whatever time is necessary with his patient. His expertise is in pain management. He is an authority on myofascial pain. His office is well run. His diagnostic accuracy is to be applauded. Despite the fact that he is an important figure in his field, he remains quite human. It may take quite some time for a new patient to get an appointment but is worth the wait.
