Dr. Greenstein is the greatest. I would say a genius. He saved my eyesight with a quick and excellent diagnose. Recommend ++

Dr. Greenstein did both of my cataract surgeries on my left and right eyes at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Each surgery went flawlessly and I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Greenstein and his entire staff are caring, kind and excellent at what they do.

I see Dr. Greenstein for annual eye exams and astigmatism issues. Dr. Greenstein is also a cataract surgeon, however I did not need those services. He also only sees adults 18 and over, he does not see children as patients. In all of my interactions with him he has shown nothing but the highest level of professionalism and care, and as he's going through the eye exam and testing he explains what he's doing and why he's doing it. He also will give suggestions for at-home things you can try depending on your issues. I asked him about eye drops that are good for dry, tired eyes and he gave some over the counter suggestions, and as someone who wears eye makeup and mascara he explained the safest way to apply and remove makeup, especially as someone who wears contact lenses. He maintains good rapport with patients and maintains a professional and polished look in the clinic. You really feel like you're being treated like a VIP even though you're in a public hospital.

Excellent service

I've had cataract surgery on both eyes with two different ophthalmologists. Dr Greenstein did the second one and it was an outstanding experience throughout. His excellent explanations of lens choices enabled me to make an informed decision. He spent time explaining the procedure at length. Nursing care at Mass Eye and Ear was superb and considerate. Lying down for the procedure was much more comfortable than sitting and warm blankets and knee pillows added to the comfort. Conscious Anesthesia was perfection - no pain, and quick recovery. My eye functioned well the next day without swelling, pain or bruising and is healing rapidly. I experienced none of the unpleasantness of the first procedure done in a "cataract factory": the first surgeon was impatient, she spent minimal time explaining lens choices; induction of local anesthesia was painful, the surgical procedure was done upright in a chair (under conscious sedation) and was very noisy, lengthy, uncomfortable, with… disconcerting, bizarre visual effects; nursing care was indifferent; after the eye patch was removed I could not see clearly for weeks because of extensive swelllng, along with prominent bruising. She neither empathized nor commented on the outcome, but just asked when I would schedule the next operation. Choose wisely for this operation as vision is critical.

I had recent cataract procedure performed by Dr Greenstein. He and his entire staff were extraordinary. Caring, informative and very professional. I now have totally clear vision and would highly recommend you consider this team if you require cataract correction.
