Dr. Shelly Jeanne Mcquone, MD

Dr. McQuone is amazing. I sought a second opinion after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and I'm so glad I found her. She explained everything in my pathology report line by line and even drew a few pictures to show me exactly what she was talking about. She was very direct about risks and benefits. I had a few questions leading up to my surgery and she replied back with a few hours and in a way that made me feel that she totally understood what I was going through. I am hopeful that I won't require another surgery for my cancer but if I did, she is the only doctor I would trust.

Waited 2 hours to see doctor. When finally seen her she said she would change out my truck the next morning. 4 days later she never showed up hospital had to get another. Ent to do the job very bad with patients would never recommend.

I had to read my own tests results to her. No chart review before appointment. Typed on computer while discussing my symptoms. No explanation why I was getting a tube up my nose. Extremely painful ear wax scraping. Sat in room while discussions of computer problems with other staff. Hand written scripts for tests. Said they would send referral to the same hospital for additional tests, I had to contact them and set up appointments. I had to call and get results. When asking about what tests said no answers and gave the standard your good. Too much work for this doctor and staff. I wish I listened to myself and not chose this doctor. If your anxious to receive results and dont care that the doctors doesnt deliver results you by phone. Then make an appointment.

I have had two throat surgeries with Dr. McQuone over the past five years. She is one of the most remarkable doctors I have ever seen. Her bedside manner is phenomenal, she is very thorough with her exams, and she knows what she is doing for sure! I highly recommend her for anyone needing someone in her field!

Dr. McQuone ordered a CT scan which I had done in the same building as her office. When i saw the results were posted, I waited to hear from her. Nothing. So i called and it was clear the office didn’t even know the results were in. A couple days later I received a call from the receptionist who proceeded to try to explain the results! But she clearly was just reading from a note and couldn’t answer my questions. So I s scheculed an appointment. I was put in an examining g room where I waited for almost 90 minutes. No one came to tell me where the doctor was, what the reason for the delay was or how much longer it would be. I finally left. I realizedays can happenbut it is unprofessional and inexcusable to be kept waiting like that without any explanation. I will find a doctor to had more respect for her patients.

Very understanding, kind and thoughtful. Excellent manner. Very empathetic and sincere.

Dr, Shelly McQuone is wonderful as is her staff at Upper St. Clair Hospital. She and staff friendly and caring. Every visit with her was great. Followed by surgery, she is highly skilled. She is an excellent Dr. and Surgeon. I would recommend her. She is amazing.

Excellent Listener! Takes patients' concerns seriously. Difficulty occurs in getting follow-up appointments. Her willingness to research problems is commendable.

Dr. McQuone did a total thyroidectomy on me back in 2008 and has a wonderful practice and bedside manner. I would highly recommend her to everyone!
