Dr. Sofia Grewal, MD

Dr. Grewal saw me recently at st.johns mercy hospital in the behavioral health department. Her demeanor with other patients I saw her dealing with was extremely rude and heartless! She was the same way with me very rude, smart alecky and condescending and in the shape I was in when I got to the hospital that was the LAST thing I needed. She finally pushed me into a corner and after only two days there, I was forced to leave the hospital AMA due to the horrible experience. I would not wish her on anyone.

I took my friend for her first visit after her 4 day stay at Highland house.This was one month later. The office hours were from 9 to 12. Her appointment was at 11:00 A.M The doctor arrived late at 10:30 A.M. The waiting room was very crowded. People had been wating over 1 and 1/2 hours. She started seeing patients immediately, Patients were in her office about 5 mintutes; then they would leave with ascript in thier hands. My friend saw the doctor from 12:30 to 12:35. She walked out with a script in her hand for medication. To me it seemed that she is just pushing pills and within hours she saw at least 15 patients for only 5-7 minutes. To me she is just a pill pusher instead of trying to help the patient with the mental problems...

Dr. Sophia Grewal is a very good psychiatrist. She doesn't mess around. Dr. Sohia is a straight shooter. She tells you exactly what she thinks. There is no diagnosing your own problems. Nor is there any unnecessary pill pushing. She only gives you what she thinks you need. I would recommend Dr. Sophia Grewal as your psyciatrist.

This doctor was filling in for my son's normal doctor while he was at St. Anthony's Behavioral Health center. My teenage son was there for many reasons, one of which was ideas of suicide. They had put him on a new medication one day and was calling me to release him early the next day because there was a huge winter storm coming. I made it clear to the nurse on the phone that I wasn't even sure if I could make it down to pick him up since I was half and hour away and it was already sleeting. But I went to get him anyway. Before I left my house to drive down there, I made it clear that I really needed his new prescription to be called in right away so I could pick it up ASAP before the ice came, they told me that wouldn't be a problem. However, after I got there, they informed me that this doctor refused to call in the script until that evening (when by that point my driveway would be iced up and me not be able to get his script and not for a few days because of this storm. All… she had to do was make a simple 5 minute call to walgreens. The staff at both the hosptial and walgreens both agreed that it was very unprofessional of her and called her back to let her know that I was upset. She again refused and couldn't even give a time as to when I could expect it called in. Then she stopped answering her phone. I tried to have walgreens call her, but they couldn't reach her either. I think it is extremely unprofessional and irresponsible for her to discharge a suicidal patient early, right after starting him on a new medicine (one which should have the blood levels checked ever 72 hours) (without checking them at all)... and then making it impossible for the parent to even be able to give her son the medicine for days.... I will be writing a letter about this to someone... medical board or something.. how dare she be so aloof with my sons health care and consequently his life.. she is not a doctor that is there for the patients, or at least she wasn't for my son and me.I wouldn't be so picky as to what time the prescription was called in if there wasn't a major winter storm expected to hit in the afternoon making travel difficult if not impossible. But there was and she didn't seem to care.
