Dr. Sohaib Faruqi, MD

I wouldn't recommend this Dr to any patients. My son Justin (autism) diagnosed with eucerative colitis according to Dr Faruqui after went thru colonoscopy procedure. He prescribed the mesalamine for Justin, this medication caused my son nausea, vomiting, belly ached, fatigue and lost weight from 127 down to 119. It's hard to get hold of his office, they rarely answer the phone after 12pm. Luckily, they picked up the phone, I told them that Justin has the symptoms after he took the medication. They need to talk the Dr Faruqui and next day they told me Dr Faruqui want me to resume mesalamine for Justin. In fact, I refused fiercely to give my son this poison. Since then they didn't contact me at all, his office staffs are rude and unprofessional just like their boss. Every time we went to see him in office, he didn't give a time to talk or explain my son illness. ??

Dr. Faruqi is extremely arrogant and more concerned about how my GP could be my GP since the hospital he’s affiliated with is not in my insurance network. He kept telling me that one of my symptoms wasn’t a symptom at all and is perfectly normal. It may be normal for some but absolutely not for me. I had my first colonoscopy 31 years ago. I’m no stranger to the issues of my colon and if I say it’s not normal…it’s not normal. I’m probably more knowledgeable on my colon issues since I’ve lived with them my entire life. He provided me nothing to ease my symptoms so when my GP called him Dr. Faruqi called in a prescription that my insurance won’t cover. When I called his office I was told to call my insurance company and find out what they will cover and to let them know. Seriously? I don’t have a medical degree. How will would I know it’s a similar medication? I’ve never used or heard of this one before. I’ve now been suffering for over a month and still have almost two weeks… yet until my scopes since they had nothing available for three weeks. See, I’m apparently not considered a priority. If this was just routine I’d agree but it’s not. I even had to visit the ER. But again this is not a concern to Dr. Faruqi. After my procedure this month I will NOT use this doctor again. I highly recommend seeing just about anyone else. He barely listened to me, spoke down to me and did not take me seriously. I’ve already scheduled an appointment with another doctor to interview for my future needs. I won’t ever be back to this doctor after this. If I could find someone to get me in sooner I’d tell Dr. Faruqi what he can do with his arrogant attitude.

I have been a patient for 20 years. Dr. Faruqi has always thoroughly investigated any symptom I have had. The office staff is friendly and efficient. There is never a wait time.

It was my first colonoscopy so there were many unknowns but Dr. Faruqi and his staff put me at ease answering all my questions and everything was top notch. Would highly recommend.

Dr Faruqui is professional and addresses all my GI concerns. Great location, and accessible staff as well!

In my initial consult with Dr. Faruqi, he answered all my questions thoroughly, and based on the visit I decided to have him perform a colonoscopy in the near future.
