Dr. Steven Robert Trinkl, MD

I went to see Dr. Trinkl a few months ago. My ring finger, first joint, was" frozen" in a downward position. (Tendon was ripped and could not be repaired.) He did what he had to do to straighten it and insert a screw in the first joint. My finger looks great again and the pain I had due to the "freezing" of the joint is gone. I would recommend Dr. Trinkl to anyone with finger or hand issues.

After many months of pain and discomfort on both thumbs, I contacted Dr. Trinkle . He performed minor surgery on both thumbs, and within days I had great relief. I was able to get back to work [electrician] within a few weeks. It was a great experience.

After 2 years of pain and disabilities following surgery in which Dr Trinkl removed a bone from my wrist and screwed my thumb into place, I was advised that the actual problem was never addressed and this disabling surgery was 100% unnecessary. This doctor ruined my life.

When I saw this doctor the wait time was long and I felt disrespected. It seemed like his opinion about my illness was clouded by his opinion of ME, one he had formed prior to meeting me. And he seemed set on a conclusion that I was either crazy or faking my illness, and based on tests that hadn't been done, and good that wasn't drawn yet. I get the feeling that an arrogant, judgmental, condescending attitude is very common among orthopedic surgeons.

I had what Dr. Trinkl thought was a cyst on my index finger. The "cyst" hurt and was pushing on my nerve. I type on and off for 8 hours a day at my job. By the end of the night I am in pain. Dr. Trinkl said it's probably just a "cyst" and that it "could" go away. I was thinking I'm not paying for a visit to see you, so I can just live with it. I told the doctor it hurt and I wanted it removed. He made me feel as if this was below him. I understand he helps people with major hand problems, but this was affecting my life and it was major to me. I felt I wasn't as important as the other patients in his office. The day of surgery he came in and still had the attitude, although his techs made up for his lack of a decent bedside mannor. They were fun and easy going. When Dr. Trinkl went to surgically remove the "cyst" he said, "well this isn't what I expected". Turns out I had a gaint cell tumor growing in my finger. This made me mad, why would you tell someone to just "live with it", "it… could go away". Then he informs me that if I had let it go and didn't have it removed I would have had to have my index finger amputated...not the experience I was hoping for. In the end he was super nice. (Probably cause he felt like an idiot for telling me to just live with it). Everyone was so nice except for him. I didn't appreciate the "I'm better than you" attitude and ego. Doctors are amazing people, but at the end of the day their just people. I think they need to be reminded of that.

Dr. Trinkl was extremely professional. He explained my teatment in a manner that I could understand. I would recommend him to any family and friends.
