Dr. Yassar Kanawati, MD

Did not review any of the medical history or paperwork that I was required to fill out before the appointment. Kept asking basic questions that were already answered on the paperwork or by me. Very inpersonal and spent most of the appointment just looking at the computer and only seemed to be half paying attention.

My son is an adult diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She is his first psychiatrist and is extremely patient with the both of us, making sure we fully understand his diagnosis. She is always willing to answer our questions. Even on weekends and nights, she'd call and check on him and listen to our concerns and suggestions. My son is very comfortable telling her exactly how he feels, and i am overall very pleased with the treatment he's recieved thusfar and the treatment he will continue to recieve under her care.

Dr. Hassan Kanawati stated to me and my child, " No matter how many test she gets your child will never get better. When I asked Dr. K to fill out this Partial Hospitalized form she refused. When I asked Dr. K. to give me my child DAF she didn't. Dr. K have valuelate my rights and degraded my child. Dr. K can increase your child medication are change it, but when you ask her why she's giving your child Respidone 0.5mg she states, " hearing voice." Dr. K states you can't diagnose a 9 yrs old as begin schizophrenic until they get 13 yrs old. Dr. K also states their isn't any program that accepts 9yrs old.
