I’ve been receiving injections for macular degeneration going on three years now. My experiences with two different providers could not have been more different. The procedure may be the same , however, techniques vary greatly. I know this from my own experiences which were quite traumatic. The quality of care makes all the difference. Because of their approach, I’ve been able to continue treatment with confidence which is so important given how ongoing this process is. In contrast, my experience with a different retina specialist group was the complete opposite.i found their approach… rushed and lacking in communication and reassurance. The discomfort and anxiety I experienced were significant enough that, had that been my first exposure to these injections, I know I would not have gone back for a second treatment. These injections are not something patients look forward to and the doctor’s technique and bedside manner can make all the difference. Very positive experience with Dr. Reed. He successfully repaired a severely detached retina in my left eye. Extremely easy to understand and communicate with. Explained the possible cause, treatment and expected outcome. He never seemed rushed and always took the time to answer any of my questions and concerns. Everyone in the office was very pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend Dr. Reed and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

I recently had my second detached retina. My regular doctor was on vacation so because of the urgency of my condition I was assigned to a new doctor, Dr Reed. Among other things I found his communication style excellent making me feel comfortable and confident of a successful outcome. The operation was a success and his post-op protocols were much easier than the first time. I'm not sure if the protocols regarding recovery have changed since my first operation in 2018, regardless it was much easier this time. Obviously I highly recommend Dr Reed.

The surgery was a very good experience. Everything was explained in detail and the results were great.

Dr. Reed's Plymouth office has taken care of my eye sight for the last few years. I am writing now because I have realized that not only has my eye health improved dramatically thanks to the DOC but also the amazing staff that is wonderfully professional, but constantly upbeat regardless of how their personal days are going. I would not trust my eyes to any other team!!!

Dr. Reed has been treating my considerable eyesight challenges for some time with the best results. He is a fine man and a very talented professional. His determination in producing the nothing but the best results and his unique abilities certainly places him at the very top of his profession.

Dr Reed and his staff are outstanding. I am a current patient and have been for more than 4 years. I have always been treated with kindness and respect. Even during the height of the Covid Pandemic they made sure that I was a priority. There are times when the office is very busy but they manage that with step by step services, and if the wait seems long to you that just means that your being treated by the best. Believe me I have been working the medical field, the best is always worth waiting for. I know when the door closes I have Dr. Reeds full attention. I also understand if I am waiting its because he is giving that attention to each of his patients.
