Dr Carlene is thorough, professional, and extremely caring. He is also highly skilled. All the pain (and it was a lot) was completely gone after my lumbar fusion surgery. Completely gone. I was walking three miles less than a month out of surgery and now am riding my bike at least ten miles a day- all thanks to Dr Carkner’s skilled work.

Dr Carkner performed a 3 level lumbar fusion. I am now 4 months out and relieved of the pain in my glutes. I am still not 100% as I need to strengthen my core and back muscles to relieve the pain when walking in my si joint.

The minute we talked I knew I liked Dr. Carkner! He was honest, sincere, and caring. He explained everything and I felt that the choice was mine at that point and I definitely chose well. Dr. Carkner was present before surgery for questions and after for results and or further questions. One of the finest doctors I’ve encountered!!! I’m 3 days post surgery and feeling so much better with each day. He was a blessing!!

I could not have been any happier with Dr. Carkner. He is professional, courteous and a very smart man. His demeanor puts you at ease right from the beginning. He told me I could be fixed and return to being myself again after other doctors told me I couldn't. My surgery went exactly as planned and had me feeling better as soon as I came out of surgery. I was referred to Dr. Carkner by three coworkers who had the same experience dealing with him. I have since referred three people who were all smiles afterwards. We all collectively came up with his nickname, "angel with a scalpel."
