Dr. Gregory Wiggins, MD

He seemed like he was in a hurry & was rude. He absolutely would not review my MRI report and would interrupt me everytime I started to ask about it. I got the impression that he had argued with someone before me who wanted surgery because he kept cutting me off mid-sentence and saying there was nothing he could do for me surgically. I never even mentioned surgery. I was prepared to ask about alternatives like stem cell therapy because I was hoping to avoid surgery. I never got a chance to talk about my options or my MRI report. I brought a printout with definitions for each of the terms on my MRI so I could follow along as he reviewed my report, but I never got to use it. He would say things like he doesn't even know all the lingo they use, so he uses layman terms, or all I need to know is the word severe isn't on the report. He kept cutting me off when I would try to ask him anything, so I said things felt very confrontational and I didn't understand why. While I was saying it, he… kept saying no, no, no. I got the impression he thought I wanted surgery (even though I never even mentioned surgery) so I said I accept his opinion, I just want to understand what's going on. He said all I need to understand is the word severe isn't on my report and there was nothing he could do. When I went to pick up my copy of the report & read it says severe disc height loss, he cut me off and said it was what he would expect to see with normal wear & tear. I brought in a copy of the one xray that showed my dislocated tailbone. He absolutely would not look at it. He decided for me that I wasn't experiencing any pain there so it wasn't an issue to be concerned about. It was interesting that in his report he mentioned I seemed frustrated that he wouldn't surgically address my tailbone fracture. I never suggested surgery and the bone is completely detached and dislocated, not fractured. I've been in constant pain for years and looked forward to the review. I drove over 30 miles, sitting for nearly an hour to be there. At minimum, I expected him to review my MRI report with me so I could understand what was going on & how he came to his decision, whatever it was. Then I expected to discuss my options. Apparently I didn't even need to be there. He did a quick scan of my report, didn't notice the word severe and concluded there was nothing he could do. He didn't need me to be there for that. This is my life but he wouldn't "waste his time" during my appointment explaining my report or even what he saw. I thought that was the point of my visit. I guess I'll learn what I can on the internet and see if I can schedule a 2nd opinion with a Dr who doesn't mind "wasting his time" explaining my MRI report and treatment options. I've been in pain for years, whats a few more months of unnecessary suffering...

When he is talking you into getting surgery, he has all the time in the world for you. After surgery, (disc fusion) which left me with more pain than I had prior, I saw him for maybe 30 seconds in my hospital room and 1 follow up appointment. He made it clear that his part was over and I was on my own. Seems like he is interested in performing surgeries not necessarily the patient's well being.

I found Dr.Wiggins’ bed side manner very poor. Very little compassion for my pain when surgery was determined not an option. Spent less than 10 minutes with me. PA was also dismissive. Additional requested tests were not reviewed until I asked about it. Very disappointed.

This is my worst experience with a doctor in over 30 years!! I would never step foot in his office nor recommend him. I faced 100% discrimination as soon as he opened the door and greeted me!

H s not a companionate Dr . He does not call back to give you results when he promised to The nursing staff at his office are not compassionate or friendly the nurses never call you back . I am so glad that I chose to choose a different doctor and treatments at a different state Kalamazoo is not the place to be when you have a brain tumor . I think he should choose a different line of work anybody with brain cancer needs to be with a good Doctor Who is caring compassionate and needs the right treatments instead of being lied to .
