Dr. Kurt R Knappenberger

The "best" orthopedic surgeon in Topeka..butchered my arm and my surgery, basically leaving me to the wolves. Do yourself a favor and go to Lawrence or Kansas City for your ortho needs.

He is arrogant and not truthful. I am left with a handicapped shoulder after he proclaimed it healing well and sent me to physical therapy. After double the usual length of therapy, I was still in bad shape and it turned out that it had not been healing properly, which is why the therapy was so painful. Another doctor that I went to see later immediately saw the problem and admitted that I had not been treated properly. The story is longer but those are the main details.

when I first went to see Dr. Knappenberger I thought for sure he would be good, instead he never looked at anything other then the xray of my knee, told me I tore legiments in my knee then having to go back to see him because my knee was not healing, he wouldnt even see me he has some PA come in sit across the room from me telling me there is nothing wrong with my knee and that the swelling i was showing her was not there, funny how everyone else could see it and see how much pain I was in I was told nothing can be done and that I am released from them, not only did they NOT see my knee needed to be completely replaced but never orderd a MRI or any more xrays let alone how blnd they are when you have a knee that has a knot to the side that looks like a tennis ball, This Dr not only has NO time for you if your disable But the staff dont even care and Im still asking where they went to school, because this form of treatment should not happen, if they do NOT wish to see people and HELP… them, then do NOT accept the appointment

i was there and had a sugery for a torn acl on my left knee.... afterwords i couldnt walk for two months and still to this day cant run or jog(2 years later) i complained multiple times of high levels of pain even when just walking or moving around whils sitting. he did not believe me sighting that nothing is showing on my MRI or my xrays. saying that my knee felt strong... after hiring a lawer(work comp) i had to threaten him with a lawsuit in order to get him to cut my knee open and look to see what was wrong... finally Dr. Knappenberger agreed to do the surgery. he foun excessive scar tissue wich he removed. but the damage to my knee is to much and cant be repaired. the scar tissue had caused everything to heal wrong damagin all my cardlage... i am an honest person... his staff and office aare curtious and professional... he was never rude... but i feel that he should have listend to me instead of wrighting off my complaints as a work comp paticent. i wasnt looking for a big… settlement i just wanted my leg to work right so i could stay in the army( i am being medically discharged because i cant run)
