I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro if you need to be treated for spine compression fracture. He performed kyphoplasty on my dad with severe osteoporosis back in 2016 and again this year due to new spine fracture. Dr. Shapiro is the BEST in the field! Shout out to his ever-efficient office staff member Xiomara Vargas. A great team!

If you are having a brain surgery for a dural fistula or other neurovascular lesion, Maskim Shapiro's neuroangio.org website is simply the best there is. It is the only website that strikes the perfect balance of relevant details and uncomplicated explanation. I used this site to learn about my condition and it greatly facilitated my discussion and decision making with my health care provider. What's more Dr. Shapiro always answered my emails about getting a consultation to see him for a second opinion. I haven't answered to any of the star ratings on service and time waiting because they are not relevant to my interaction with Dr. Shapiro. However, I do consider that my comments about the neuroangio.org website are relevant to patients, because they are part of the service and care provided by Dr. Shapiro. I have no doubts about the five star reviews by other patients.
