Dr. Mark Benjamin Gerber, MD

If I could give Dr. Gerber and his PA Sybil 20 stars I would. I had to have L4 and five and S1 fused. I am very active and I just felt that there had to be a better way than the fusion did a lot of research and found out about a new surgery for the back called Tops. I asked my surgeon in Chicago. Could I have it done and he said I wasn’t a candidate because I was too far gone. I had never met Dr. Gerber but I called their office and asked them if I send down my films could he at least tell me if I am a candidate so I wasn’t wasting my time . They looked at them called me immediately and got me in. He did the surgery on the L4 and five and fused the S1. He warned me that I would hate him for two weeks. I only ended up hating him for six days I am only eight days out of the surgery and I have taken a quarter of a mile walk with the walker just to make sure I was steady and I am 85% out of pain already. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Everybody was wonderful. I am in awe and am… so grateful to get my life back. I can’t imagine how good I’ll feel in two weeks he changed my life.

I want to recognize Christine and Jodi at the reception desk who went above and beyond today by helping to reschedule a very important appointment for my wife with Dr. Gerber. These two ladies were kind and patient enough to understand a unique situation, and showed flexibility that we rarely see in today’s world. EXEMPLARY BACK SURGERY RESULTS THAT HELPED MY HUSBAND

My wife, age 50, in chronic pain for a year from a fall. Dr G saw my wife’s neck MRI and said he couldn’t fix it since “I couldn’t get a pediatric screw in there” and referred us to his pain treatment doc. He was very disappointing too. We didn’t want opioids as the answer! A friend told us about the Spine Hospital of Columbia Presbyterian in NYC and we went there in desperation and met with Dr Riew - he said my wife’s neck was a bit difficult but he could fix it - now a year post surgery-ACDF with 6 screws - and she’s back to her old self! Totally mystified why Dr G lacked the skill to help!

Dr. Gerber is very professional soft spoken Doctor and easy to communicate with and understand. Very nice!!!

Greatest ever!

Dr.Gerber saved my quality of life. I was in a car accident in the adjacent county with a brain bleed that led to two brain surgeries. He knew there was something wrong when after all the surgeries I was in bed in pain more than 5 days a week. He operated and found screws loose. He gave me back my quality of life. He is amazing and has great foot apparel ð???. He also didn't even cut my very long hair to do it. He is amazing surgeon that can make you become the person you thought you never could be again. He has saved my life.

My son had been referred and scheduled for appointment weeks ago with this office to be established as a new patient with Dr. Gerber's practice. They office phoned me to confirm,my son's appt. the day before. My son drove 2.5 hours from Bradenton to Naples only to be told that they do not accept his Aetna HMO insurance, and that he would be responsible up front to pay $500.00 to be seen by this doctor today. When I spoke to the staff they informed me that it was the patient's responsibility to verify insurance providers themselves, and that they were 'out of network', even though he was referred. No one took the time to verify this. They were rude and hung up the phone on me. I've since called and left message to have the office administrator (Lorena Ortiz) return the call, and she has never called back. I hope my son never needs this physician's services, I would not recommend this practice at all. They do not do their job, are incompetent and rude. Hopefully, he will never require… surgery and will heal from his back injury. This practice is unprofessional, and leaves much to be desired. Steer clear!
