Dr. Mary Lee Vance, MD

Her rudeness is shocking; the most in compassionate dr I’ve ever experienced.She will not listen to a word you say, is sarcastic, and condescending (with ZERO provocation). I’ve read endless reviews supporting this and shocked she’s not been reprimanded (actually could have been, well nvr know). Time to retire and just stick to selling antiques ??

I took my autistic son to see her years ago. She parroted what a Duke endocrinologist had said, "I'm sorry your son doesn't have Cushing's. I know you want him to have Cushing's but he doesn't." The stupidity of that remark was only over shadowed by her claim that she knew he didn't have Cushing's when she set the appointment, knowing we would be travelling ten hours for the visit. I just went over the medical errors and test results with a new doctor and found out that endo's have been missing Cushing's for years and we have to start again.

Dr. Vance I believe was a God send for me. She was very on top of things. I was diagnosed with Cushing's back in 2014. I am very glad she took care of me.

Dr. Vance is my third endocrinologist (other two retired), and was the first to take that extra step to find out what was causing my symptoms, not just treat them. At times, I feel as if I need to pull information from her, but she never fails to answer my questions. Come prepared, with your questions written down, and the info will flow freely.Overall, I am very pleased with Dr. Vance.

Dr. Vance sees me annually, but I am always able to call or e-mail. She calls it like it is when I've not done what I should be doing for my health and she lets me know she is pleased when I'm doing the right things. When there is a problem from my blood work I find out within a week and we tweak things as needed. I have a 40 year history with other endocrinologists at NIH and medical schools. I think she is one of the best.

As a paitent of 6 years I am very pleased with my care from Dr. Vance and the staff. I find them very helpful.I would (and have)recommend Dr. Vance.

Dr Vance is a brilliant snd world-class endocrinologist especially for pituitary tumors and Cushing's disease. She can be confrontive if she thinks someone is going in a wrong direction with their health, but it is always with the person's interest in mind. When there is a problem, she acts promptly, decisively, and handles it for her patients. A patient under her care is in great hands.
