Dr. Matthew Ezra Emanuel, MD

Always enjoy my visits to the clinic. Dr. Emanuel is always relaxed but very precise with my exam and discussion. Have no plans of ever seeking or seeing another doctor concerning my eyes and sight!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Emanuel! First, he gave me my sight back. I am so thankful for him! I've seen him several times and he's done two surgeries for me and I cannot say enough good things about him. I can't imagine having a better surgeon. I have difficult eyes, as there are other problems going on, and you can tell the care and concern he has. He's has excellent communication with my other doctor who referred me to him and I know I have the best care possible. He explains things in a way regular people understand, he is quick, efficient, extremely intelligent, has a great sense of humor, great bedside manner during surgery, and his team at both locations are so friendly. As for wait times that I saw a complaint for in another review, that's a scheduling issue that he doesn't have control of, BUT I have no problem waiting a little bit when I know he's delivering excellent care to others as well as me. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Emanuel.

Reviews from several years ago were positive. A lot has changed. I've seen him a few times over two years, so he's had a few chances. It's just who he is now. He's burned out, crispy fried. His compassion is long gone. He doesn't like questions; answers take time and there are too many patients waiting to be seen. He doesn't want to hear about your problems; he's sick of listening to complaints. It's just a waste of time. He needs you to shut up and get out of the office, so he can clear the crowded waiting room. On my last visit, I heard him in the next room, talking to the patient ahead of me. He was just as impatient and short-tempered with that patient as he has been with me. He's clearly miserable. I hope he can retrain for a job he actualy likes. Maybe radiology, where he doesn't have to see patients. Glaucoma Associates has more patients than they can handle. Wait times are often 90 minutes, no WiFi. The staff is run ragged; mistakes are made, and you just have to be… patient. If you haven't heard back in two days, call and leave another message.

I am very grateful for Dr. Mathew Emanuel. He is very patient and explains everything thoroughly. He is a very good doctor.

From the first time I meet with Dr Emanuel and his TEAM of Professionals, each provided the best communication and care needed to make my eye surgery a wonderful experience. The outcome was better than I expected. The ole saying "Seeing Is Believing" is so true as I can see better than I have in 10 years or more...I can't wait to have my other eye surgery performed by Dr Emanuel and his TEAM of Professionals. Dr. Emanuel is a great doctor, he is caring, and has a lot of compassion and patience with his patients.He makes everyone feel special. That means a lot. Even after surgery he personally called my aunt to check on her that night after surgery. This made her feel great and also it let me know just the kind of person he is. He is always kind and always has time to explain things to you so that everyone understands and for that we love him as if he is part of our family.

We are blessed to have discovered Dr Emanuel through a referral from our daughter. We feel completely confident we will get the best care and diagnosis. Excellent doctor! Thank you Dr. Emanuel.

There are a few things going wrong with my eyes, one of them was the side effects of medication. So much so that the medications were the main source of discomfort and interference. Dr Emanuel listened to me! WE talked through the options (emphasis on 'we') and he provided honest answers. The bottom line is I'm more comfortable. He monitors my condition closely and I trust him. On top of that he is a nice man with a sense of humor, so while the subject matter of our visits can be serious, there is always good conversation to soften the edges of worry. Another way to evaluate the competence of the physician is their support staff since these are the people patients will spend as much time with as the MD. Also I observe how that doctor treats his staff. Because that is how the doctor will eventually treat their patient. I can tell there is a good working relationship with his assistant. I can also observe how kindly the front desk staff and the check out staff treat not only… me, but other patients.

I have a young son who felt like a "fish out of water" in a glaucoma office. Dr Emmanuel made a huge effort with Owen to put him at ease and talk with him. We never felt rushed in fact he took the time to talk with my son on a personal level to ease his anxiety. Excellent experience

Dr. Emanuel and his staff are so warm and friendly. Especially Yvonne! They always answer all my questions. I've never been more at home in a dr's office.
