If not for Dr Keating's wise and conservative care, I would have begun overly aggressive treatment for my CLL much too soon in the course of my disease. I have had 6 excellent years of Watch and Wait and I trust that if Dr Keating feels I can wait longer, it will be the right decision. He is a strong personality, very brilliant, and may intimidate others with his unflinching opinions. That's the kind of strength you want on your care team when dealing with an difficult disease.

Dr. Keating is a wonderful, kind man who is an expert in his field. I went to him in 2001. After my treatment and have been cancer free since then.

This man may do wonderful things for cancer patients but trust me, this is an awful person to be around. No respect towards others. He is human trash!

On two occasions, Dr. Keating, treatment for Cll differed from local oncologists, and with his second opinion, I was prescribed FCR in a clinical trial, and when I relapsed after 5 years, I was prescribed Ibrutinib, which had been approved by FDA only a year before. Life is good and I am very thankful to have Dr. Keating prescribe the best possible treatments.

Have been seeing him for 18 years for CLL.We travel 1400 miles one way by van.He is simply the best!Dr. Keating is a mixture of total brilliance,total compassion and complete humility. The people who work with him in the fight to end cancer reflect his aura.MD Anderson, Houston is not the first place to go for your cancer but the only place to go for your cancer.

Dr. Keating is as personable & down to earth a person as you'd ever hope to meet. He is an excellent doctor, with an outstanding reputation as one of the true pioneers in the field of leukemia research & treatment. But as great a doctor as he is, he's an even better person. I have trusted him with my life on the line and he's always come through for me. Just don't try to shake his hand, he prefers bear hugs!
