Dr.Mariam Loyo Martinez is the best plastic surgeon I know,she is a very talented surgeon,making the impossible possible.I highly recommend her to everyone who considers plastic surgery.

It’s very clear that Dr. Loyo Li does not treat each patient that comes into her office with the same amount of compassion and respect. Frankly, I question the authenticity of some of the reviews. My encounter was quite the opposite. This was my first consultation for a rhinoplasty ever. Even though it was a two hours drive, I chose OHSU in hopes to be informed and educated with the best options. Looking back at my consultation, it was clear Dr Loyo never planned on helping me. She is very calculating with her approach, setting the consultation for failure. I know I’m not the only one nor will I be the last, that is until OHSU address all concerns. OHSU needs to be careful in putting a doctor on such a high pedestal. It creates an atmosphere of doctors becoming untouchable when mistakes happen. Dr. Loyo is more concerned rising through the ranks than truly helping those that enter into her office. Dr. Loyo treats her work at OHSU as her private practice. If you can’t add to her… profolio your a waste of her time and treated as such. During the first consultation she barely examined me. It was like pulling teeth to get a detailed answer, 1st red flag. At the computer simulation she shrunk my original nose just smaller. One thing she did make very clear is she will only do a revision if she chooses to, 2nd red flag. Revision was never on my radar. Still naïve I looked forward to the quote. It was emailed to me with no pictures of my nose, 3rd red flag. I called back to make another appointment to go over in details what the procedure entailed and what the end result of my nose would look like. Being that was not made clear in the initial 30 minute consultation. I drove two hours just for the second appointment to last less than 5 minutes. Dr. Loyo came in alone without her assistant to take notes, 4th red flag. I asked her how the tip of my nose would look like, being I primarily came in for a tip rhinoplasty. I showed her a couple of pictures of myself so she had a better understanding. I was never given a mirror. Dr. Loyo said she saw nothing wrong with my pictures, 5th red flag. I was taken aback because during the initial consultation she said she could make changes to my nose. I noticed she brought in a clipboard, eager to see what I would learn, her next remark was “what if you ended up with alar asymmetric”, 6th red flag. I didn’t understand the question because I didn’t even know what a alar was at the time, nor did she further explain. Overwhelming with emotion I began to cry. At age 47 I was so excited to finally take the first step in rhinoplasty to than come across a cold doctor that wouldn’t even take the time. Because I began to cry, Dr. Loyo’s next comment was she wants me to go see a body dysmorphia therapist, 7th red flag. I’m a very simple woman that doesn’t even wear makeup. I agreed through my tears because I realized she had no plans in helping me. I learned later that they do not provide such a service. It’s the patient responsibility. In this day and age with Covid it could take 6 months to over a year to get a therapist. Dr. Loyo threw the first stone that created a ripple effect in sabotaging my rhinoplasty experience. I ended up having a second opinion with a fellow surgeon at OHSU, which by the way said my tip looks like a clown. Even though I expressed about the settle changes to my nose I would like to have done, Dr. Loyo’s notes were shared and read which ultimately gave me a completely different nose. There was in no way she knew exactly what I had wanted to achieve with the short time she spent with me. Now I can no longer recognize myself. It has been a horrific experience that has turned my life upside down. Having rhinoplasty with OHSU was the worst decision I have ever made. I hope my review gives pause. Not every rhinoplasty encounter are rosy. There are many that are like mine and should also be share with great importance.

It is the one-year anniversary of my surgical procedure with Dr. Loyo. Her inability to tell the truth and lack experience performing my specific procedure, have me mourning the loss of my face as it was 12 months ago. I wish I would have known then that she knowingly “practiced” on my face and deformed me for the remainder of my life. Please don’t pay thousands of dollars for her to deform you too.

OHSU does not publish the negative reviews Dr. Myriam Loyo Li receives on her reviews page, only the positive ones. I wrote an honest review of her work and it is nowhere to be found. This is a deceptive practice and makes it difficult for consumers to make an informed decision. I was a patient who was mistreated and permanently deformed by her.

Hiring Dr. Miriam Loyo Li was the worst decision I’ve ever made. She took thousands of my hard earned $$$ after she confidently assured me she had performed “hundreds” of my specific procedure. I later learned, after she botched my procedure, that the actual number was much, much lower. I was deceived. My face will never be the same.

She did not feel she could help my case.. Referred me to another surgeon with poor reviews. Seemed hesitant from the start of the consultation which did not inspire trust . Very disappointed in the lack of care and response by this doctor. Despite the fact her realself profile claims she does revisions on what look like complicated cases. It would have been nice to get some other recommendations from her versus the one with poor reviews.

Dr. Loyo performed a revision septo-rhinoplasty on Jan. 16th with remarkable results. Couldn't be happier!
