Dr. Olivia Chan Liao, MD

Dr. Liao is one of the best eye doctors I've ever been to. Very knowledgeable and comprehensive in her exams. Communicates about all relevant matters. I have been seeing her for 30+ years and have total confidence in her.

I feel quite lucky to have Dr Liao as my eye doctor. She is thorough and so very experienced. I feel absolutely nothing gets missed … and at the same time , if there is nothing to worry about, she will tell you that as well. Wholeheartedly recommend.

I have always been very impressed with Dr. Liao. She’s been my eye doctor for close to 30 years. She’s very personable and professional. She does a thorough exam and is very good at explaining things and answering questions. I recommend her highly.

I appreciated her direct approach. I didn't want anyone to just seem to suggest that I "maybe" had to follow protocol for a surgery. In the end the surgery went well and I now have much better eyesight. She is brilliant and is willing to stop and explain why things need to be done a certain way. I really appreciated that.

I have been seeing Dr. Liao for many years. She is very competent and thorough. She explained to me what problem/no problem as she was checking my eyes. While my eyes were irritating for some time, instead of using medicine, she suggested me to use hot compresses to relieve that, and this indeed works!

I've been seeing Dr. Liao for many years. She has performed a few "scrapes" of my papaloma, monitors my floaters, and monitors for eye issues that are in my familial history. She is the only eye doctor who ever told me my glands fill with oil, giving my eyes a heavy, tired feeling and to use compresses to relieve that. She explains everything, answers questions, provides advise. She used to tell me to take Lutein but many years later said to stop because further studies no longer backed up the efficacy. I now travel an hour to see her, because I hate to change to someone else.

I had an urgent care visit scheduled with Dr. Liao on a Tuesday at 11am. I arrived at 10:50 and was taken in my a technician at 11:05. At 11:20, the technician deposited me back out in the waiting room to wait for Dr. Liao. At 12:15, (almost one hour of waiting) Dr. Liao came to get me. She spent 10 brusque minutes with me, gave me some terse instructions, and told me to call in 7 days with an update. No improvement in 7 days. I called with an update to ask for surgery appt since I've been plagued with chronic chalazions before and Lex Eye has surgically removed them in a timely fashion. Dr. Liao did not return my call or speak with me. I had to call again (day 8). Dr. Liao had a "scheduler" call me. Next surgery consultation appt was 22 days out. Scheduler could not answer the question as to how long of a window surgery date would be if on the consultation day, the doctor determined that surgery was necessary (no general lead time could be provided even though I pressed for more… detailed info). Terrible level of care after being satisfied with Lex Eye for over a decade. I'm switching providers so that I can experience more patient-based care.

She is a little different now.

Was incredibly unkind and blamed elderly lady for being late when in fact it was the website that said the office was not yet opened. So unkind, frustrated to explain questions; the elderly lady is nervous to go back to her and doesn't trust her care. Switching.

Always very pleased with office visits, never rushed and very accommodating
