Do not go to this doctor. The service was fine, however, their billing system is horrendous. A month after going in I received a $4,000 bill, and that’s after my insurance. I had no surgery done, it was a 20 minute appointment. This bill was completely unexpected. They never told me it would cost that much, and when I went in to ask why my bill was so high, they said they have no idea how much procedures will cost. After further discussion, they told me they could give patients estimates of how much it would cost, but they choose not to. This is a terrifying healthcare scam. If I do not pay $4,000 in a month, they said they will send collection agencies. Do not see any doctors under the UC Health system. Furthermore, when I went in to ask about their billing system, the front desk service was extremely rude to me, and started getting angry. Pati was the only one who calmly talked me through what had happened. Here’s what I understood: they know how much services will cost, but it’s… apparently too much work to give estimates to their patients. So, they knowingly will let you sit down for a 20 minute appointment that will cost you $4,000. Do NOT go to this doctor.

First of all I felt Dr. Wise to have a horrible bedside manner. He came across as very arrogant to me. That arrogance may very well be deserved as he is recommended as one of the top doctors in his field, but I want my doctor/patient relationships to be more personable. However, my biggest problem was not with the doctor as with the office itself. The first time I went I was give a prescription for eye drops, that when taken to my pharmacy was going to cost more than I could afford. After speaking with the office they said they would see what they could do. Apparently, the doctor called in a new prescription to my pharmacy, but no one contacted me. It wasn't until the pharmacy called me telling me a script was ready that I was made aware of there was a new script called in. That led me to missing out on three days of using the eye drops he prescribed. My next issue is that in a follow-up 3 months later the doctor had is assistant perform a test on my eyes that I was not made… aware was not part of the office visit. Two months after that I received 2 different bills totaling close to $400 for that test. If I couldn't afford a $100 prescription, how was I going to afford a $400 test. If I had just been made aware that this was not part of the office visit I would have contacted my insurance, asked more questions, or simply denied doing the test. I WASN'T GIVEN THAT OPPORTUNITY. Because of this I was not able to refill my prescription for serum drops, that I had saved up for, and was the only thing helping my issue. I held off paying the bills as long as I could, while trying to contact to office to speak to someone. I called once a week every 2 weeks, until I got letters threatening collections, and no one from the office EVER called me back. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS DOCTOR.

Dr. Wise is an awesome doc !

My treatment at this office would be what I call a pleasure if it were not for the fact I have to see them for eye problems. They have always attended me in a most expedient manner, arranged to always have an interpreter for me since my English is terrible, have worked with me on flexibility and always treated me with courtesy. The office is immaculate and well decorated, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, Dr. Wise has been so attentive to everything I say and tell him and PAYS ATTNETION to what you relate to him, He documents everything, keeps great records, recommends other specialists or treatment if he deems necessary. He is professional and courteous but also straight to the point which is precisely why he can stay on schedule and accommodate all his patients without making them wait. I am extremely happy with him and his staff.

Talk to the person, not the computer. Listen to what your patient is saying. Don't argue with your patient. Communicate with your office staff. Be professional. Most of all...USE BREATH MINTS!

I was told a 9:45 appointment. Dr. didn't show until one hour and 45 minutes later because of a surgery. The lady at he desk said she called to let me know that he'd be late but she called the wrong #. In fact she called a # that I had never given out. Instead she called me using caller ID versus the number I gave them to keep on file. Poor administrative procedures but good doctor.

I hadbeen seen at other doctors offices and they cold not help me. Dr. Wise was great and I enjoyed the staff. They really care about their patients. It is obvious when you are there.
