Dr. Sandhya Iyer, MD

I went to Dr Iyer to get a second opinion after a first doctor diagnosed my cataract. My experience with her office was leaps and bounds above the first doctor. The front office is organised and on time. Dr Iyer quickly diagnosed it, gave me all my options for the correct lens based on my lifestyle and I was done in less than an hour vs 4 hours at the first Dr. She was very patient and encouraged questions. It is apparent she cares deeply about helping her patients see clearly, and wants them to be realistic and happy with their choice. She answered every question I had before I left. We scheduled the surgery and I had it done yesterday. The procedure went smoothly, timely and just as she told me it would. I went back for a follow-up today and everything is exactly as expected. Loved my experience and highly recommend Dr Iyer and her awesome staff.

I found Dr. Iyer to be superior. Very knowledgeable about the eye and would answer any intelligent question. I have never had a doctor who was as genuinely concerned about her patient.

It's very difficult finding a specialist who enjoys talking to his/her patients. Dr. Iyer is just one more example of the arrogant specialist. The way she talked to me was condescending and downright offensive. I asked her to right down the name of an antibiotic, and she replied with a cutting remark. I had one last question for her and she literally had one foot out the door. Despite my best effort to be cordial, she obviously did not appreciate my questions. Dr. Iyer is the all too common type of specialist who comes in, makes a diagnosis, writes a scrip, and leaves.

Dr. Iyer is excellent Ophthalmologist. Thorough. Quite professional without coming across as being overly professional. Likeable personality. Talks with you about whatever you bring up rather than keeping it "strictly business".
