Dr. Stephen Damien Anesi, MD

Simply put... Dr. Anesi is the reason I can see my beautiful daughter every day. I come from a family with a very complicated genetic autoimmune disease, part of which is uveitis. Dr. Anesi not only fully comprehends the disease but also makes me feel at ease knowing I’m in the best of hands. He’s innovative in his approach to treatments & outstanding when he has performed surgery on my eyes. He is extremely thorough during my exams and always explains his findings in a way I can clearly comprehend and patiently answers all my questions. When I was pregnant he worked with me to develop a contingency plan for treatments should they be needed that would keep my baby & I safe. Boston is known for having some of the best medical care in the world. Dr. Anesi is one of the doctors that makes that statement true.

Because of my persistent uveitis and my extreme myopia (-17), I was out of options. Fortunately my opthamologist referred me to Dr. Anesi's office. In a very short time Dr Anesi had my uveitis under control and surgically replaced my natural lenses with "multifocal" lenses (caterac surgery). My vision has gone from a "-17" to the day after surgery seeing 20-20. Not only that, I don't require the use of any reading glasses (Iâ??m 56 years old), I don't even own a pair of glasses or contacts! This has given me a whole new quality of life not needing glasses, going from nearly blind (without glasses) to 20-20. I have to admit I was at a low point when my Opthamologist said he "couldn't help me any longer" and my vision was deteriorating. From the time of my very first visit with Dr. Anesi my life just continued to get better and better. He and the entire staff are always extremely positive and they wouldn't listen to any negatives about not being cured. I simply can't find… enough ways to describe how wonderful Dr. Anesi is. I would recommend Dr. Anesi to everyone, I can certainly see why people travel so far to see him, he is the best, truly a great guy and an amazing doctor.
