The man is a genius, who somehow manages to remain humble and kind. It is amazing. We asked people at the hospital about him prior to surgery, only to find that everyone holds this man in high esteem. Most of them referred a friend or relative to him for surgery - the ultimate endorsement. We are SO blessed to have a surgeon like this available to us.

Had a bulging disc pinching nerves. Although the pain was excruciating, I was not wild about having surgery due to hearing so many horror stories related to spinal surgery. Dr Brumblay suggested waiting, to see if it would resolve on its own, as they often do. When that did not happen, surgery was scheduled and relief was almost immediate. Brumblay never pushed surgery, answered every question, and was very kind and considerate, as was everyone on his team. However, this guy is extremely busy, so if you need lots of hand holding or coddling, you might not get it. Please note - Although Dr Brumblay and Borgess Hospital were in-network, the anesthesiologists were NOT. Apparently this is becoming increasingly typical, which is ridiculous. An appeal has been sent to the insurance company, as the patient has no control over who is used, there is no in-network anesthesiologist anywhere in Kalamazoo, and no one can have this surgery without it.

I could not believe how rude he was at the appointment, it blew my mind what a horrible attitude he had and how he acted to us.

We were so lucky and blessed that he was the neurosurgeon on call when my husband was sent to ER and needed emergent surgery on his spine, eight hours in OR on a Saturday. Dr. Brumblay is the best (even several of the nursing staff volunteered that high praise, without being asked.) He is brilliant, yet personable and warm, and takes time to explain everything thoroughly. I would recommend him to anyone!!!

The Man is a GENIUS !!!

Dr. Brumblay is a GREAT doctor and explains everything to you in detail. I've never had a doctor spend as much time with me and be as thorough as Dr. Brumblay. He is highly intelligent and qualified. I would recommend him to anyone needing neurosurgery. I had an issue come up in my presurgical testing, and he called me personally to talk about it. I was so impressed at my first visit that I knew he was the neurosurgeon for me! You will not be disappointed in this doctor, I guarantee it!!

Dr Brumblay and his assistant are always professional, and I never feel rushed. He spends as much time as it takes to explain and make me feel comfortable.
