Melody Hrubes, MD, FACSM, FAMSSM (she/her) is the Medical Director of the HSS Performing Arts Collaborative. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine. Dr. Hrubes has experience with broad-based musculoskeletal injuries with particular interest in injury prevention and biomechanical rehabilitation in performing artists, endurance athletes, and female athletes. She currently serves as Team Physician Coordinator for the United States Soccer Federation U17 Women�s National Team, Medical Director for the Radio City Rockettes, and works with multiple Broadway shows, off-Broadway shows and dance companies. She has experience with broad-based musculoskeletal injuries with particular interest in injury prevention and biomechanical rehabilitation in athletes, performing artists, endurance sports, and female athletes. Dr. Hrubes is skilled in trigger point and ultrasound-guided injections (joint, tendon, bursa, muscle), including PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and hyaluronic acid (gel lubricant for joints), which may be appropriate for certain patients. Dr. Hrubes serves on the Board of Directors for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and President of the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA). She is co-chair for the Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer Health Executive Committee and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. She was honored to be lead medical for Team USA Breaking leading up to their first appearance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
