Dr. Michael David Guttenplan, MD

Dr G found thyroid cancer in my friend and had her thyroid out with in a week of diagnosis and figured out that that was the problem when no other of her specialists or PCP could PLUS he repeatedly saw my son for recurring sore throat SAME DAY every time I called for an appointment. He VERY RARELY runs behind schedule and always works very hard to get patients the treatments, scans, medication, etc they need covered by insurance or (if paying cash) reduced in cost to them. He is THE ONLY DOCTOR I trust with my children and trust his relationships with his colleagues to put my boys under general anesthesia should they require any head or neck surgery. He truly sees the complaints a patient has from THEIR PERSPECTIVE! I wish that EVERY DOCTOR had his bedside manner! That definitely should be a class in med school...patient perspective 101. He and Dr.’s Burgess, Dr. Emerson (most of the doctors with TOCA) Dr. Tom Cerato, Dr. “Bob” Venkata Evani, and last (but by no means least) Dr.… Keith Zacher could teach this current and next generation of doctors a thing OR MANY! If anyone needs a TOP NOTCH skills, education, experience, and bedside manner ENT...Dr. G is your man!

Dr. Guttenplan is awsome. He wasn't a stiff doctor that gave you your diagnosis in big words and terms. He was nice and he treated me with respect. He is funny and charming as well

Good Dr. Great matter with patients. He will research and confer with other doctors if he feels he must to help his patients Nice man.

I like that if I am in the office at my appointment time, he is seeing me then, not an hour later as some doctors. He has figured out my problem, but due to other health concerns, I can not have the needed surgery, so he has figured out the medicine to combat my sinus infection. I get much better explanation than my wife does for her ent problems. I am satisfied.

I had Dr Guttenplan as a child and now I take my children to him! Wonderful doctor!!

This dr. spent 5 minutes criticzing me and saying disrespectful things about my mother whom was not with me. I went to this dr. for cronic strep throat. When he asked me to explain what was wrong he cut me off mid-sentence asking the question again. Assuming that telling him how my illness had started would help him make a better assesment. This was not important to him. I explained that in the past 3 months I have had strep throat 3 times and had been cultured by my Family dr. earlier in the week and been positve with strep. He told me I could get my tonsils out if I wanted, but other than he didn't think I was sick and there was nothing he could do. I started to cry, I had already been trough 3 rounds of antibiotics and I was coming to him for as a specialist. He basically just said to get my tonsils out. I told him that I was told that your tonsils are an important part of your immune system and that taking them out could make me sicker. He asked who told me that and I said my… mother. He said I'd like to see her medical degree. I'm 23 and I don't think my parents are all knowing anymore, but he didn't have to be disrespetful about it. I left there crying and feeling as though I had just went to the principle's office. No one has the right to talk to another human that way and most people at least have a slight sign of compassion. This doctor is the reason people who are sick give up on life, because they don't give answers and they don't give hope.
